Problem:
Our customer is developing
a product with small heater blades in a cylindrical configuration and needed a radial surface map of the inside surface. In addition, once the product was developed and in production, an automated method
was required to perform 100% inspection of the product.
Solution:
QUEST developed a version of
the QC-10 mapping system to perform a continuous or segmented scan of the inside surface of the part using a miniature laser
probe 4 mm in diameter. The system can scan one or more regions of interest as well as the entire inside surface. For the production environment, a user programmable set of accept/reject criteria are automatically
applied to each part scanned. Simple calibration, automated part bar-code input,
and a variety of data output formats make the QC-10 system a flexible solution to small-bore mapping needs.
