During the last ten years QUEST Integrated, in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Energy
through the Small Business Innovative Research program, has developed a track based vehicle to move inspection payloads on
the wall of a reactor pressure vessel.This vehicle can crawl vertically or horizontally
based on commands from an operator console and can navigate into the belt line region of the reactor.The system uses a laser based method for establishing the position of the vehicle in the reactor pressure
vessel.Although primarily developed for ultrasonic inspection, it can support
a large number of different payloads.
